How crazy to think that this is the last Wednesday of October already!

Everyone has presented their nonfiction projects, and Mr. Leis has been teaching this week, focusing a bit more on text features and text structures, with some group activities and independent assessments.

We have also continued with DLP and our modern version of Romeo and Juliet.  The next DLP test is planned for Friday, November 4.  Just like usual, we will review the day before, on Thursday, November 3.  Stay tuned for the Quizlet link and any other necessary information regarding this test. The uncorrected version of the DLP sentences are shown below.

Just a quick update before I leave school for the evening.

Advanced Math:  Your assignment for tomorrow is ACE questions from Investigation 2, numbers 4-7, 40, 42, 45, 46.

Language Arts:  No new assignment. We will continue our focus on the topic of theme every day this week.

NHD:  Every night you should be working for 30 minutes toward your NHD goals. By now, the following goals should be reached:
*Both sides of the infamous green sheet completed and approved (three total teacher signatures)
*15 sources (at least 5 primary)
*All sources into your easybib.com document
*Working thesis statement written and approved

Hello! I hope all of you had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving break!

Language Arts:  Today Ms. Nicoud began teaching Language Arts.  We discussed theme, and that's what we will continue to do tomorrow.

Advanced Math:  There will be a quiz on Investigations 1 and 2 tomorrow.  Be ready. :)

Social Studies:  Continue working on NHD.  You should work 30 minutes nightly on NHD.  Continue to find sources and take notes.  At this point, you should have at least 15 different sources.  They should be checked out or printed off--not just listed randomly or on the green sheet--and you should have added them to your bibliography.  If you don't have notes from each one, you need to take notes, focusing on the theme of Rights and Responsibilities.  Your thesis should be approved by now, but I realize I have gotten a bit behind all the email messages lately. I apologize for that.
