FIRST EXTRA CREDIT OPTION OF THE YEAR! WOOHOO!

What you need to do:

1. Attend the Labor Day Powwow this weekend in Black River Falls.

2. While you are there, take a selfie (or have someone take a picture of you that proves you were there).

3. Write a solid paragraph telling about your experience attending the powwow. 

4. Send me your selfie and paragraph (or print it out and turn it in on Tuesday, September 4, the first day of school).

Upcoming Due Dates

Due Monday, May 7 at the BEGINNING OF CLASS: 

Annotate the lyrics of your favorite song, labeling as many of the poetic devices correctly as you can. Specific instructions:

• Pick a song that is school-appropriate
• Pick a song that has several different poetic devices
• Either copy and paste the lyrics into Google Docs or print them out
• Be sure your labeling is clear (I need to know that YOU KNOW what a metaphor, simile, and so on, is.)
• 5 points for Reading

Due Tuesday, May 8 at the END OF CLASS: 

Draft 1 of your ode. Specific instructions:

• Use Google Docs to type this up
• Name your file with your name and "ode"--example: "Fred--ode"
• Must be at least 20 lines
• Should have several different poetic devices throughout your poem
• 5 points for Writing

Due Tuesday, May 15 at the BEGINNING OF CLASS: 

8th Grade Farewell Assignments. Specific instructions:

• Short (10 seconds at the longest) video “Who are you?”--Upload to your Google Drive and then share with me or email to me.
• Bulleted list of favorite memories--can email me
• “Thank you” letter(s)
• Music requests and photos for slideshow
