Short week this week... Students are off on Thursday and Friday. Still though, we have much to accomplish these few days. If everyone works hard, we will reach all of our academic goals during these next few days.
Math: Today we briefly reviewed some details from last week that were necessary for today's math investigations (2.3 and 2.4). Students were assigned p.10 -12 and are expected to complete this homework by Wednesday. Tomorrow we will not have math class because we have a Russian guest speaker. However, on Wednesday, we will "flex" language arts and science time to make time for a second one-hour dose of math class.
Language Arts: Today we worked on nonfiction reading. Students read an excerpt from a book about Russia and then completed some tasks associated with it. Every student has also received their business letter revision suggestions. D-2 is due by the end of the class tomorrow. Students should make their changes and be ready for an edit tomorrow. Their goal is to get the final copy into the addressed envelope by the end of the period tomorrow.
Social Studies: This is the last week to finalize maps for the city planning unit. Students worked on color-coding different zones today. We will need to review neatness tomorrow, though, as I noticed lots of scribbling going on. Professionalism is a big part of this grade, so we need to be sure we are doing neat work of which we can be proud.
Please email me with any questions you may have! Enjoy the rest of your day!
