Advanced Math: My math students took a quiz that we had originally planned for Friday. Students will have 10 minutes to finish this up tomorrow before we move into the next book, Looking for Pythagoras. Review session for 4a and 4b from the first summative assessment was today, and I will be hosting a review session for #2 tomorrow. (#2 was the canoe vs. paddleboat question.) Students cannot retake these parts without having come to a study session. With the end of the quarter near, I am trying to take care of retakes this week.
Language Arts: EVERYONE finished their business letters today! Tomorrow, students will be given some time to finish up and print out their spooky stories. Students who have an enormous amount of work should spend an hour revising tonight in order to finish in time tomorrow.
Social Studies: Today and tomorrow are the last days devoted to the City Planning project. Don't forget to make up any missing work if you have any!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31: Our Spooktacular spooky story reading event from 9:30-noon. Students are welcome to bring treats to share. Mr. Sprain and I will provide very basic snacks and a simple beverage. The focus is on the stories, of course, so please be careful not to bring anything too messy or involved.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2: Our culmination of the City Planning project ends with an assembly in the auditorium. Several city/county planners will be present, along with the mayor and county chairperson. Students are expected to dress professionally--no shorts or jeans. See Mr. Sprain or me if you are concerned about having appropriate attire for this very important event.
As always, please email me with any concerns or questions that you may have.
