Welcome back to another Monday! And a belated thank you to all the veterans who have made this great country the place it is! Lincoln will be honoring veterans next Monday, November 19 at our school-wide Veteran's Day assembly.
ADVANCED MATH: Today students reviewed 1.3 and completed 1.4. Homework for tomorrow: p. 14-15, (26-30).
LANGUAGE ARTS: Today, we dug into Katy Perry's song, "Firework," looking for the different poetic/sound devices. Assignment for tomorrow: Find a song that you listen to regularly and identify all the poetic/sound devices.
SOCIAL STUDIES: For the next few weeks, students will be split into three different groups. I have the girls at the moment, and today I introduced the National History Day (NHD) project. This project is something in which we require all CC Pod students to participate. While we will give them quite a bit of time to work on the NHD project, the bulk of this project is to be worked on at home. Over the next few months, I will show students different ways of organizing information and how to do an annotated bibliography. This coming Friday, each Language Arts block will visit the Main Library for a quick tour and informational visit. We will also do a couple larger research time periods at the library as time moves on. For more information on the NHD project, visit the NHD site: http://www.nhd.org/.
Feel free to e-mail me with questions or concerns.
