What a great day it has been! I can't believe we are already half way through this week. Even moreso, I cannot believe that we are at midquarter! Time sure flies when we have fun (and keep busy!) Here is an update for today.
Advanced Math
Students should come with all five steps of our independent centers/stations completed. If for some reason you struggle with getting this completed on time, I would prefer that you email me (pjohnson@ lacrossesd.org) with your concerns. We will be continuing with our regular math unit tomorrow. Hopefully the centers helped clarify some of the areas of confusion.
Math students--I encourage you to participate in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Mathematics Department Talent Search. If you are interested, the first set of problems is on their web page: http://www.math.wisc.edu/talent/. It would be really neat to have a few Lincoln Community Connections students challenge themselves with this! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Language Arts
Today was the last day of in-class time to work on your spooky stories. That means that if you didn't finish it in class today, it is now homework. We will be moving into persuasive business letters starting tomorrow. YOUR SPOOKY STORY IS DUE FRIDAY AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR LANGUAGE ARTS CLASS! I will be here at 6:30 a.m. on Friday if you need some extra help or just a quiet place to work. Students do not have their stories ready to turn in will have an hour detention every day until their story is complete.
