Hello! You made it to Friday!

Grammar:  Today we briefly reviewed simple sentences, as we will have a quiz on Monday.  Then we went outside and "planted" our peace pinwheels in honor of National Peace Day.

LA and SS: We had a Social Studies megablock today so students could present their 5 Themes projects.  Before getting into the students' presentations, however, a Chinese teacher from our sister city in China came to our classroom and talked about life in China and the differences and similarities to our culture and our schools. She shared a lot of interesting information, and the students were engaged the entire time.  We will have a shortened LA schedule on Monday (and Tuesday if necessary) so that students can finish presenting their projects.

Math:  We continued to work on slope.  Students were given a 2-sided practice worksheet, as well as a "function" worksheet.  These are all due on Monday.

Have a great weekend!

For my math students...

Reminder:  On Monday, we will have a quiz assessing your ability to find slope when given two points are when given a graph with a line on it.  Some of you have the slope concept down but struggle with integers.  Here are some sites to help you practice integers:

And then here is a review of how to get slope from Khan Academy:

And of course, here is our class song :)
