I hope everyone thaws out from their Camp Salem experience over the weekend! Next week we will be celebrating the culmination of our spooky story unit with a Spooktacular Reading Event on Thursday, October 31. Very soon, if not already, parents should be receiving their formal business letter persuading them to come to the event. Before writing these letters, students learned about the three branches of persuasion: ethos, pathos, and logos. They were expected to have at least one example of each in their letter to you. Quiz them and see if they can tell you their examples! Here are some due date reminders for Advanced Math and Language Arts:

Advanced Math: You were supposed to finish 3.2 in the time that you were here on either Wednesday or Friday. If you ended up needing more time, please have it ready to check off on Tuesday. More importantly, please have your questions/confusions ready to discuss on that day.

Language Arts: The FINAL COPY of your spooky story is due on Tuesday, October 28. You will not have any class time on that day to finish writing or to print your story. You may print to the LMC when you first get here in the morning, quick grab it, and then head to math class. If you are one of the three students who did not complete your business letter, it is now overdue by three days, and you need to stay after school to complete it.
