Sorry for my lack of an update yesterday. It was just a busy day. :)
Guided Reading: We started to learn the Kansas State Paragraph Writing Strategy yesterday, and we will continue that throughout this quarter. For the first few minutes of scheduled class days, we will take notes and discuss how to write a good paragraph. The rest of the time will be silent reading. On days that we don't take notes, students will be expected to write a paragraph in response to their reading, practicing the Paragraph Writing Strategy in their journals.
Advanced Math: Today we took another quiz on our current math content. I have planned Tuesday as the day for the summative exam on the current book. This may change depending on how the quiz and the next few days of class goes.
LA/SS/NHD: By Friday, students need to have a rough draft of their NHD project turned in to me. Some students who are doing exhibits are creating mini replicas or drafted drawings of their projects, and this is fine. We will give students tri-folds next week, once we see that they have the appropriate material to put on them.
