I'm posting this again so that those of you who have subscribed to my blog or have RSS feeds can get another reminder of the due dates.

What a great field trip today!  I know that I, personally, learned so much today that I hadn't know before.  The history behind the Exxon Mobile site that is up for redevelopment is intriguing!  I hope students share what they learned with their parents.

Remember:  No school tomorrow

Here are some reminders for the weekend:

Guided Reading:  Be sure to bring your novels to class on Monday, as well as your grammar notebooks.  We will continue to have 5-minute grammar mini-lessons before doing our silent reading each week.

Math:  Monday is a review day for our very first test.  Students are expected to complete the review sheet and be ready with questions about challenging areas for them.  Students who struggle with integers are expected to go to the sites that I listed last week to practice their adding and subtracting of integers.  We will have an extended math time on Tuesday, and that's when we will complete the actual test.  This test is 90% of the first quarter grade.

Language Arts:  Students should have their stories completed before they walk into class on Monday.  We will begin persuasive business letters at that time.

Social Studies:  Students will be told their City Planning project groups on Monday and will begin planning their own ideas for the development site.
